Have you been playing Diablo Immortal and noticed you’re getting Aspirant keys and wondered what they’re for? It took me ages to figure out what these keys were for.
Hopefully this guide will help you.
In Diablo Immortal, there are a number of ways to upgrade your character. One of those way’s is with Aspirant Keys.
This is a great method to learn about, as its one of the free-to-play methods within Diablo Immortal.
In this guide, I’m going to go through what Aspirant Keys are, how to use them and how to get them.
Let’s get started…
What Are Aspirant’s Keys?
One of the things that people don’t like about Diablo Immortal, is the pay wall. Many of the upgrades do need to be purchased.
There is however a free way…..by using Aspirant Keys
The great thing about Aspirant Keys is that they allow you to give your character permanent buffs. Inside Iben Fahd’s Sanctum are rooms with chests, known as the Sanctum Depths.
You use Aspirant Keys to open up the chests.
Inside the chests are gems that are used to help level up the Horadrim Vessels.
You get access to Iben Fahd’s Sanctum and Sanctum Depths, once it’s been unlocked after following the Legacy of the Horadrim questline.
This quest is automatically given to you once you hit level 49.
Once it’s unlocked you then need to find Horadrim Vessels and as I said upgrade them with the gems. This will give your character certain permanent buffs, depending on which vessels you upgrade.
How to Farm Aspirant’s Keys
So now you know what Aspirant’s Keys are, let’s look at the different ways in which you can farm them. Some are more effective than others, but all are worth doing if your trying to build up your supply of keys.
Sanctum Depths
The Sanctum Depths is in Iben Fahd’s Sanctum. Once its unlocked you can run it and defeat enemies. They have a chance to drop Aspirant’s Keys.
Usually you’ll get a minimum of 4 keys.
This will allow you to open 3 chests.
This is a daily reset, so you can go and rerun it every day.
It’s worth noting that if you miss a day, you will not be able to rerun it for more keys.
Elder Rifts With Daedessa’s Blessing
Joining the shadows will allow you to access a perk known as Daedessa’s Blessing. By having this you can receive Blessed Chests when you do Elder Rifts.
You can get 3 of these chests per day and each one contains Aspirant Keys.
You want to make the most of this perk, if you get it.
Now you will not be given the keys automatically. Although when you complete the rift, you will be notified that you got a Blessed Chest.
You have to go into your item menu and open the chests. Once opened you will receive the Aspirant’s keys.
Battleground PvP
Now if you prefer to PvP, you can also earn additional Aspirants Keys. As you rank up, you’ll be given a higher number of keys as a reward.
PvP is not everyone’s favorite thing, it’s worth giving it a go for additional keys.
Below is a table that shows the rank vs the Aspirant’s keys you get as a reward.
Rank | Key Rewards |
---|---|
Bronze | 5 Aspirant’s Keys per Rank Up |
Silver | 6 Aspirant’s Keys per Rank Up |
Gold | 7 Aspirant’s Keys per Rank Up |
Legend | 10 Aspirant’s Keys for reaching Legend |
First Kill of The Day
You get different rewards each day when you do your first kill. One of the rewards is Aspirant’s keys.
The rewards you do get are random but I’ve seen Aspirant’s Keys quite a lot. You usually get 5 keys.
Not a great way of getting a lot of keys but every extra one counts!
Join The Shadows Assembly
Finally another way of farming Aspirant’s Keys is through the Assembly. This can only be done when you’ve joined the Shadows and can be done most days.
You simply have to give and receive blessings and as a reward you get Aspirant’s Keys. It’s a great way of getting them, so it should be done as much as possible.
How To Buy Aspirant’s Keys
If you don’t fancy farming for Aspirant’s Keys, you can purchase them. There’s one way of doing it with in-game money and two ways of purchasing them with real money.
Buy Keys With Hilts
The Hilts Trader does sell Aspirant Keys.
He sells them for 50 Hilts and you can get 5 keys per day.
I would say there are more important things to spend your hilts on, such as Legendary Crest, Gems and potentially Legendary Items.
But if you’re desperate for keys, then it is an option.
Its not too hard to get hilts, these can be farmed byl
- First daily kill
- Completing Rifts and ranking on leaderboard
- Achievements in codex
- Leveling battle pass
- Fight in PvP and increase rankings on leaderboard
Empowered Battle Pass
In Diablo Immortal you can upgrade the battle pass to the empowered battle pass. This gives you more rewards as you progress through the levels.
In the last season you would have got 36 Aspirant’s Keys by hitting level 40 in the Empowered Battle Pass.
A little extra, so you don’t need to spend all your time doing dailies or fighting in PvP.
Limited Bundles
If you do like spending real money, you can get Aspirant’s keys in the in-app store. There are bundles that are limited, weekly and even monthly that contain the keys.
They do also contain other items such as legendary crests, gems and more.
This does open up the option of getting hundreds of Aspirant’s Keys. However it’s down to personal choice if it’s worth spending your hard earned money.
An example if the bundles I have available are;
Aspirants Supplies – Weekly – 170 Keys
Magnates Supplies – Monthly – 170 Keys, 36 Gems & 30 Legendary Crests
Pit Of Anguish Trove – Limited – 200 Keys, 13 Legendary Crests & 1800 Eternal Orbs
(What is available to you will vary depending on your level)
How To Use Aspirant’s Keys
Okay, so now you have some keys.
You’re probably thinking, “What am I meant to do with them now?”
Plus you probably want some rewards for all the hard work collecting them.
Inside Fahd’s Sanctum is an area known as the Sanctum Depths. You probably know about it if you’ve been grinding Aspirant Keys.
Here you’ll find chests, these can only be opened with the keys that you get.
The first chest can be opened for free, however all other chests do cost you keys. The more chests they open, the more keys it costs to open them. This is why you need to collect a lot.
So what’s in these chests anyway…
Inside each chest are culling stones. It is these that are needed to level up the vessels in Iben Fahd’s Sanctum.
This will give your character better stats, levels and even help improve their combat rating.
It’s definitely worth your time on doing these upgrades.
There are a total of 4 rooms in the Sanctum Depths and in each room there are 5 chests. In total 20 chests that can be opened, however like I said to open them all you’ll need a lot of keys.
So let’s look at what’s needed for each room and the reward.
Room 1
Chest Number | Keys Needed | Culling Stones Received |
---|---|---|
1 | 0 (free) | 5 |
2 | 1 | 5 |
3 | 2 | 10 |
4 | 4 | 20 |
5 | 8 | 40 |
Total | 15 | 80 |
As mentioned you get a free chest but to open the rest you’ll need 15 keys, this will give you 80 culling stones.
Room 2
Chest Number | Keys Needed | Culling Stones Received |
---|---|---|
1 | 10 | 45 |
2 | 12 | 54 |
3 | 14 | 63 |
4 | 16 | 72 |
5 | 18 | 81 |
Total | 70 | 315 |
In room 2, you need 70 Aspirant’s Keys. This will however give you 315 culling stones
Room 3
Chest Number | Keys Needed | Culling Stones Received |
---|---|---|
1 | 20 | 90 |
2 | 22 | 99 |
3 | 24 | 108 |
4 | 26 | 117 |
5 | 28 | 126 |
Total | 120 | 540 |
In room 3, we’re starting to see some serious numbers. In order to get 540 culling stones, you need a massive 120 keys.
Room 4
Chest Number | Keys Needed | Culling Stones Received |
---|---|---|
1 | 30 | 135 |
2 | 32 | 144 |
3 | 34 | 153 |
4 | 36 | 162 |
5 | 40 | 162 |
Total | 172 | 756 |
The final room and you can get 756 culling stones but it’s going to cost you a massive 172 keys. This could take you a bit of time to build up but if you’re a completionist like me, it’s well worth just finishing all 4 rooms.
Now you don’t need to finish the rooms. You could just do the first couple and then the next day it will reset.
If you were to do all 4 rooms, you would need a total of 377 Aspirant’s Keys. This would give you a massive total of 1,691 culling stones.
What Do You Use Culling Stones For?
I wanted to go into a little detail on Culling Stones and what you use them for.
So there are 3 different culling stones;
- Beryl
- Garnet
- Sapphire
And they upgrade the following stats;
- Life
- Damage
- Armor
- Armor Penetration
- Resistance
- Potency
Initially following the first questline you will unlock Iben Fahd’s Sanctum and place the first vessel.
There are a total of 9 vessels that can be found throughout the world and each one gives a certain buff;
Vessel Name | Buff |
---|---|
Caldensann’s Compassion | Armor Penetration Armor |
Cathan’s Piety | Potency Resistance |
Guilt of the Nameless | Resistance |
Iben Fahds’s Tenacity | Damage Life |
Jered Cain’s Vision | Armor |
Nilfur’s Precision | Armor Penetration |
Nor Tiraj’s Knowledge | Life |
Tal Rasha’s Authority | Damage |
Zoltun Kulle’s Ingenuity | Potency |
Each of these require a specific culling stone to increase their rank. As you increase the rank, the stat bonus they give you also increases.
Final Thoughts
There you have it, a complete guide on Aspirant’s Keys.
It might sound like a lot of work, but it is worth it to collect these keys, unlock the culling stones and upgrade the vessels.
Simply because it’s one of the best free to play methods of upgrading your characters stats.
