Let’s be honest, is it a Final Fantasy game if it doesnt have Gysahl Greens?
As soon as you unlock your Chocobo Battle Companion, you’ll want to find out where you can buy them. Since its these greens that help you call it to come and fight by your side.
Throughout Eorzea there are plenty of vendors where you can buy Gysahl Greens from. Although ill be honest, I was in a hurry so I just brought them from the market place. They’re very cheap, I get a hundred at a time and that keeps me well stocked up.
If you want to buy Gysahl Greens from a vendor, and they only cost 36 Gil each. Since they can be found in all starting cities, you can get them pretty early on in the game.
These NPC’s are

Why Do You Even Need Buy Gysahl Greens in FFXIV?
Even though there are only a couple of uses of Gysahl Greens in Final Fantasy XIV. Its one of those items your going to be making sure you have plenty of.
There are two key reasons why you’ll get them;
Summon Your Battle Chocobo
The most common reason will be to help players summon their chocobos. You unlock your battle chocobo by completing the “My Feisty Little Chocobo” Quest.
You then use Gysahl Greens to summon it by your side for 30 minutes. Whilst at your side you can use it as a mount but it’ll also battle with you.
You’ll be able to level it up and even give it equipment. Making it a valuable asset, even more so if like me you tend to play the game on your own.
30 minutes doesnt sound like long, which is why you’ll need more greens.
Crafting
The other reason for buying Gysahl Greens is for crafting. You see you use these greens to create different feeds. These are needed to help increase its stats, so you can race your chocobos.
Crafting is a Disciple of the Hand class and can be unlocked by going to the Upper Decks of Limsa Lominsa and visiting the restaurant. You’ll unlock it when you complete the quest.
You will need to level up your Culinarian class a bit first though.
There are two grades of seeds. The recipes for grade 1 are unlocked at level 30 and grade 2 is level 50.
Below you’ll find the different feeds that you can make, i’ve also included the ingredients needed.

There we have it, where to buy Gysahl Greens in FFXIV and why you’ll want to get them.
Even if you were not bothered about the recipe side for the racing, you’re going to want them to be able to summon your chocobo.
Remember its not just a mount but a battle companion. The Chocobo can be a great help, even more so when your playing solo. Having a companion that heals you if your tanking or DPS is a big help. Or if you place a healing job and want extra DPS, it can be a life saver.
