The way we sit when gaming (or working) can not only effect how we perform but it can also dramatically impact your health.

Thats why its important to have the best kind of gaming chair, just like the SecretLab Titan Evo.

I’ve been gaming for most of my life, although when I started a young family I’d only be gaming for an hour at a time. Its not until I started working from home a few months back and setup my own office that I began gaming for longer.

I didn’t really know much about setups and got a couple basic office chairs.

After a couple of weeks of working and getting some decent gaming hours in, I began to notice my lower back would hurt.

My back would hurt pretty much from the moment I woke up, until the moment I went to sleep. It made it very uncomfortable to not only game but also work.

Its not until I did my research and learned that the chair I was using didnt really have much lumbar support.

As a first gaming chair, it was not a great choice.

I spent ages researching the best gaming chairs and thats when I came across the SecretLab chair.

Overtime I’ve tested and reviewed many gaming chairs. The one I still use on a day to day basis is the Secretlab Titan Evo.

In this review I’ll share my thoughts o the chair, give a bit of information on what makes it a good choice and even why its worth the price.

Its a high quality gaming chair that offers adjustable lumbar support, height adjustment, moveable armrests and offers a high level of reclining for additional comfort when taking a break.

It even comes with a magnetic head pillow thats made from memory foam.

The Secretlab Titan evo series comes in 3 sizes, has twi different material finishes and has a wide range of color options.

Since its a premium gaming chair, it costs more than a standard gaming chair. From someone that has tried many gaming chairs and suffered from pain due to low quality chairs, its well worth the money.

The second the Secretlab Chair came to the door, to assembling it and then finally enjoying sitting. You can see why it really is the best.

Unboxing and Building The Secretlab Titan EVO

Theres not many brands that make you go wow when you open the box for the first time. The Secretlab titan evo 2022 does!

Secretlab make buying a gaming chair an entire experience.

First thing I have to say about the box is just how big it is. I did manage the box on my own but you might want a hand as it is big and pretty heavy.

The first thing you spot when opening the box is the instructions. They’re on a large card the length of the box. Don’t let that overwhelm you, as it takes just a few steps to get the chair built and the pictures are incredibly detailed.

Its got to be some of the best instructions I’ve seen.

One thing to note, try and build the chair in a room with a bit of space. I built it in the office, which was a bit tight and made it a little trickier.

Everything is well packaged and covered in foam to help prevent any damaging. Its not a cheap gaming chair, so you would expect it to be well protected.

The build was pretty easy, it took around 30-40 minutes to put together. I normally get frustrated when building things together but this chair was enjoyable.

A Detailed Look Into The SecretLab Chair

The Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 provides amazing comfort and adjustability, so lets look into the chair in more detail and go through what makes it so good.

Chair Material

Secretlab doesnt use regular pu leather. The standard edition chair uses a new generation premium leatherette known as NEO Hybrid leatherette.

The great thing about this material is that its much more durable. Secretlabs claim that its 12x more durable than normal leather.

There are a couple of options when it comes to the fabric choices.

PU Leather is the standard material choice and as long as its looked after, its perfectly fine. In fact its much easier to clean.

SecretLabs do offer their SoftWeave Plus, which is a little more expensive but if you have pets then its worth it as its more resistant to scratches. It’s also a little more comfortable, so its more down to personal preference.

If you had the budget, you might want to consider the Napa leather upgrade. It’s more of luxury at $1,000 but it does offer you more comfort and makes it much more durable

I personally went for the standard PU Leather and I’m more than happy with the way it looks and feels. Although I’m doing everything I can to keep my son and cats off it!

Design

Now we’re all different when it comes to our style and what colors we like. Not only that but if your looking for a new chair, you want it to fit nicely in the room its going in.

One of the great things about SecretLabs is the amount of colors and designs they have for their office chairs.

Whether you want a chair a similar color of plush pink, frost blue, arctic white, mint green or a stylish black.

What about if your a fan of Fortnite, World of Warcraft and other games? Dont worry, you can find a gaming chair to share your love.

With its stylish racing seat style, you’ll want to sit in it for long periods of gaming in complete comfort.

Comfort

The seat, armrests and backrest is made from a memory foam material. It even comes with a memory foam head pillow, more on this shortly.

Although if you want to, you can get Technogel armrests. These are more durable and still comfortable.

As you would expect from a premium gaming chair such as this, its made to a very high quality. Using aluminum and plastic.

I love the fact that the Titan EVO is a very quiet chair, this is due to its rubberised wheels.

Armrests

One of the things I’ve struggled with in the past is finding a gaming chair that has armrests that you can adjust properly.

Most chairs you can move them up or down but it doesn’t give you complete control.

With Titan EVO 2022you have pretty much full control.

The armrest has three buttons.

You can move the armrests up and down like normal with the buttons on the outside. There’s then a button on the inside of armrest which lets you move it closer to you or further away.

Finally a small button near the front of the armrest that allows you to turn the rest to an angle.

Another thing I love about the armrests is that they can be changed. They’re connected using magnets, so you can replace them easily.

Lumbar Support

Lumbar support in gaming chairs is crucial as it helps maintain proper spinal alignment and posture during extended gaming sessions, thereby reducing the risk of back pain and other musculoskeletal issues.

Chair Size

The Titan EVO like previous secretlab chairs comes in three different sizes. No matter what your height or weight, you’ll be able to find a chair for you.

The three chair sizes available are small, regular and extra-large.

No matter which size you go for the assembly process is the same and provide precise adjustments.

Each made from a steel frame.

The difference is the extra large gaming chair has a heavy-duty tilt mechanism and Class 4 hydraulic piston. It has this as it helps withstand higher weights on the first gaming chair.

Titan EVO Small

The small version of the chair is for shorter people. In terms of height, its suitable for people that are 4’11” and 5’6″. The maximum weight should be no more than 200lbs.

Titan EVO Regular

The next size up and the most popular is the regular. This chair is suitable for those that are 5’7″ and 6’2″ in height and a weight of no more than 220lbs.

Titan XL

The third and final size is the extra large, this will suit those that are between 5’11” and 6’9″. It suits people with a weight of up to 395lbs.

Adjustability

One of the reasons why Secretlab Titan evo 2022 is one of the best gaming chairs is because of just how adjustable it is. This helping to provide you with all day comfort.

The hydraulics are controlled with a lever under the seat. This helps to adjust the height of the chair and unlike cheaper chairs, its very smooth.

If you like to recline your chair when you relaxing, this chair is perfect. You can use the recline lever to recline it all the way down. You can even recline it forward slightly, although I personally dont like that as much.

Don’t forget to speak to the personalized support to get a good idea on the best position for your chair.

As previously mentioned you can move the armrests in four directions. You can position them up, don, forwards, backwards, side to side and even rotate them. No matter where you like to place your arms, the secretlab titan evo 2022 can do it for you.

The armrests even contain a cooling gel, so they’re very comfortable.

One of the main reasons why I got this chair was because of the lumbar support. Where most gaming chairs have a pillow, this chair has a built in hump.

You can fully adjust this hump by using the dials on the side. This moves it up and down as well as in and out. Making sure your lumbar is fully supported and comfortable.

It is worth noting that you can move it so you cannot feel the hump, that way you can use a number pillow.

Finally there is a magnetic memory foam head pillow which can be moved up and down to height you want it to be.

Pricing: Is the Secretlab Titan Worth Its Tag?

The Secretlab Titan Evo series is a premium gaming chair, and it does have a bigger price tag than alternative chairs.

It does start at around $549, this does make it around $150 more than previous secretlab chairs. The price increases depending on if you go for the more expensive upholstery such as the Neo Hybrid Leatherette or decide to go for the bigger chairs.

All chairs come with the the magnetic memory foam head pillow, a three year warranty and a money back guarantee.

Now the big question is whether or not its worth it…

This is going to be a down to you and what your looking for.

Personally I was looking for;

• A durable chair that will last for many years
• Remain comfortable even after using it for 8+ hours per day
• Stopped my lower back from hurting
• Looking good for streaming and suited the design of the room

For me, the Titan Series ticked all of this and more. I’ve had cheaper chairs in the past and they’ve caused me discomfort and were not very durable. So yes, I do think it is worth the higher price tag.
