Where To Find Vampire Crab In Palia

Vampire crabs are rare bugs that can be caught to be sold for 145 Gold. They’re also needed as part of the main quest Vault of Waves: Spooky Bundle. In this quick guide, you’ll learn where to find the Vampire Crab in Palia and the best way of catching it.

Key Takeaways

  • Vampire Crabs can be found in Flooded Fortress, Bahari Bay
  • They only show between 6pm-3am
  • Sell for 145 Gold
  • Drop Silk Thread that can be useful
  • Required for the Spooky Bundle in the Vault of Waves

During your adventures into Palia, there are many skills that you need to learn and develop. Including Hunting, Mining, Fishing and Even Furniture Making.

Another fun skill is Bug Catching, which is essential for getting all of the different bugs you’ll see as they travel the different areas.

Bug catching uses the belt tool and smoke bombs to try and catch the harder to get bugs.

You want to level up your bug catching to not only earn gold by selling them but some are also needed to complete quests.

One bug is the Vampire Crab, this sells for 145 gold but is also needed to progress through the main quest line.

The Vampire Crab is however rare and not always easy to find. In this guide I’m going to share exactly where to find the Vampire Crab in Palia and what to do with it.

What Are Vampire Crabs

The Vampire Crab can often be missed as its very small. This rare crab is red and black with yellow markings, it’s easy to get it mistaken for the Bahari Crab.

If you were to get one then you can sell it for 145 Gold, although the quality ones sell for 217 Gold.

Since they’re rare, its not really possible to farm them as it’d take too long and not be worth the return.

BUT…

You should still try and get them.

First of all they’re a required item for the Vault of Waves questline. You need one for the Spooky Bundle.

Einar often asks for one as a weekly gift and I know Delaila also likes them.

Another reason you want to catch them is for the silk thread they can provide you. This is needed for some furniture recipes.

Where To Find Vampire Crabs in Palia

Vampire Crab Location in Palia

In Palia you can find Vampire Crabs in the Flooded Fortress in Bahari Bay, this is the only place they spawn. You’ll also only be able to find them between 6pm and 3am, Palian time.

Wonder around the shallow water and the grassy shores and you’ll spot them soon enough.

They’re quick, so just using your bag might not do the trick.

I’d suggest using Sticky Bombs as this will slow them down. Be prepared to use a few, so make sure you’ve got plenty in your inventory.
